The Berlin Municipal Opera orchestra is conducted by Artur Rother. Their performances are skilled, even passionate. Artur Rother succeeded Bruno Walter as the Berlin Opera's conductor in 1934. Three years later this non-member of the Nazi Party was named its general music director. Rother's conducting style is interesting.

Die Fledermaus is an operetta composed by Johann Strauss II to a German libretto by Karl Haffner and Richard Genée. The original literary source for Die Fledermaus was Das Gefängnis (The Prison), a farce by German playwright Julius Roderich Benedix that premiered in Berlin in 1851. On 10 September 1872, a three-act French vaudeville play by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, Le Réveillon, loosely based on the Benedix farce, opened at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal.

Reproduced from a copyist's manuscript, extracted from the Cranz opera full score. La chauve-souris; La Chauve-Souris; La Chauve-souris; O Morcego (ópera); O Morcego; Läderlappen (Strauss); Die Fledermaus (Strauss); El murcielago; Die Fledermaus . Authorities. I-Catalogue NumberI-Cat.

In 1821, the Berlin Opera-hosted at the Schauspielhaus Berlin-gave the premiere of Weber's Der Freischütz. In 1842, Wilhelm Taubert instituted the tradition of regular symphonic concerts. In the same year, Giacomo Meyerbeer succeeded Gaspare Spontini as General Music Director. Felix Mendelssohn also conducted symphonic concerts for a year. These works were performed by Belgian conductor René Jacobs together with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and the Freiburger Barockorchester on period instruments. In the 1990s, the opera was officially renamed Staatsoper Unter den Linden. In 1992, the Argentine-Israeli conductor Daniel Barenboim was appointed Music Director. 1899-1913 Richard Strauss. 1913-1920 Leo Blech (Hofkapellmeister). 1923-1934 Erich Kleiber.
