Artist: Haiku Salut Song: Hearts No Parts Album: Etch & Etch Deep Track: Enjoy it!

Etch And Etch Deep’ finds ts Gemma and Sophie Bakerwood and Louise Croft exploring electronica, with deep synth tones, crunching glitch. I didn't know anything about Haiku Salut (and didn't know this was a soundtrack). From the cover I was just expecting a typical synthpop album or something. But as soon as that very first tempo change hits, you know you're in for something a bit different.

Release date: 31 July 2015. Country: United Kingdom. On their proper debut, the members of Haiku Salut found a sound: post-rock adorned with subtle electronic accents, or - as the band themselves described it - ething-Or-Other. But they hadn’t quite found a rhythm. If this all sounds a bit linear, as though Etch and Etch Deep moves like a standard plot, well, that’s because it does. There’s no film to accompany it, but that doesn’t mean Haiku Salut’s second album doesn’t make for a fantastic score, providing a subtle emotional guide as it moves from point A to point B and each stop along the way. Without the burden of visual or lyrical accompaniment, the listener is free to soundtrack whatever they desire.

The first single from 'Etch And Etch Deep' was premiered in May 2015 by The Line Of Best Fit, who called it 'uniquely stunning. This tune merges worlds and genres with callous disregard for adhering to the norm.
