Jackson Mac Low September 12, 1922 – December 8, 2004 was an American poet, performance artist, composer and playwright, known to most readers of poetry a. Doings: Assorted Performance Pieces 1955–2002 Granary Books, 2005. 154 Forties Counterpath, 2012.
Jackson Browne is the eponymous debut album of singer Jackson Browne released in 1972. It peaked on the Billboard 200 chart at number 53. Two singles were released with "Doctor, My Eyes" peaking at number 8 on the Pop Singles chart and "Rock Me on the Water" reaching number 48. Browne had been having minor success as a songwriter but was still unable to obtain his own recording contract.

This recording is an excerpt of a 2-hour long performance/reading by Jackson Mac Low at Sir George Williams University in Montreal in 1971. I am currently preparing an article on this reading/performance, and plan to embed this and other recordings into the article. Mac Low describes the procedure of the original text composition as 'a piece produced by subjecting the electric typewriter keyboard to randomization by random numbers, so it looks like a lot of different characters from the electric typewriter. The readers, according to Mac Low, read from the piece 'any way they wish. On one tape player is a performance of this piece that Mac Low made in a laboratory with the musician and sound artist Max Neuhaus at the University of Illinois in early 1966.
Jackson Mac Low (September 12, 1922 – December 8, 2004) was an American poet, performance artist, composer and playwright, known to most readers of poetry as a practioneer of systematic chance operations and other non-intentional compositional methods in his work, which Mac Low first experienced in the musical work of John Cage, Earle Brown, and Christian Wolff. One type of non-intentional composition that he used relied on an algorithm he dubbed "diastic," by analogy to acrostic. Biography by "Blue" Gene Tyranny. Mac Low began writing music and poetry when he was 15, and later he developed his "simultaneities" after 1953 for speakers, vocalists, instrumentalists, and/or projectionists.
