Carpenters - The Singles 1969-1973 album download
The Singles: 1969–1973 is an album by the brother/sister pop duo The Carpenters
Album · 2000 · 21 Songs. Singles 1969-1981 Carpenters.
There's a certain inherent sadness listening to this concise 12-song collection of the Carpenters' early hits, especially as it opens with "We've Only Just Begun," with its hopeful, dreamy lyrics - for it was never supposed to be definitive, just the first of at least two such collections. But changes in the public's taste and a slackening (though never a disappearance) of hits for the duo, and Karen Carpenter's death in 1983, made this the first and only real mass choice for a Carpenters collection.

This is the 2013 Universal Music Japan remaster, supervised by Richard Carpenter, and used for the 2014 Platinum SHM-CD and SHM-SACD releases in Japan. Listen to The Singles 1969–1973 right now. In Britain, the retrospective also topped the album chart (for 17 weeks in all, the last of them in July 1974), spending a staggering 112 weeks in the top 40, and 136 in the top 75. In fact, it became one of the bestselling albums of the decade, eventually going 17 times platinum. When it came to The Singles 1969-1973, it seemed like every home had one. The Carpenters’ track record of hits, and their ability to appeal to a broad spectrum of listeners, were in part what made the album so successful. By definition ‘Greatest Hits’ records are all killer.
