Chromeo - White Women album download

When it comes to lyrics and songwriting, White Women is Chromeo's most inconsistent release yet. What did you think of this album?

White Women ‎(12xFile, AAC, Album, 256).

White Women is the fourth studio album by Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo. It was released on May 12, 2014, by Last Gang Records. The album features contributions from Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, Toro y Moi, Solange Knowles, LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney, and Fool's Gold duo Oliver. White Women entered the Canadian Albums Chart at number six with first-week sales of 3,500 copies

White Women is the closest Chromeo have come yet to fully realizing their sound, but it's also far from perfect. Lead single "Sexy Socialite" is retrograde on a number of levels-from composition to worldview, it feels like a leftover from that She's In Control-and its final third needlessly drags. Still, even though closer "Fall Back 2U" rubs up against the six-minute mark, it's still a great song with slicing disco strings and a tricky chorus melody

The album features contributions from Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, Toro y Moi, Solange Knowles, LCD Soundsystem's Pat Mahoney, and Fool's Gold duo Oliver. Background and release. Singles and promotion.

Chromeo’s fourth album has everything from smooth Chic guitar joints to flourishes of Euro hi-NRG and modern dance pop so shiny it could have been produced by Dr. Luke. The Canadian duo’s disco revival isn’t quite as cheeky as similar efforts from, say, Duck Sauce (co-founded by Chromeo singer Dave 1’s little brother A-Trak) – but songs like Sexy Socialite are clearly meant as clever fun all the same. Your enjoyment may hinge on whether you hear Dave 1’s lines as those of a con man trying to persuade you to like him or an endearingly nervous wreck terrified that you don’t

The ‘White Women’ track list is filled with infectious tunes, but they’re all of the same brand of flash-in-the-pan disco pastiche that Chromeo have reproduced here for the fourth time. The spacey synths paired with Nile Rodgers-esque guitar licks in ‘Over Your Shoulder’ hit the spot, and ‘Sexy Socialite’ has a snappy dancefloor-motorik beat courtesy of former LCD Soundsystem drummer Pat Mahoney – but it’s not long before the hooks start to follow a uniform path, leaving all of the album’s melodies blurring grubbily together. White Women is the closest Chromeo have come yet to fully realizing their sound, but it's also far from perfect. The Line of Best Fit. May 8, 2014. 75. This album does do something to placate their critics on this issue.

Chromeo - 'White Women'. Canadian duo's yacht rock nightmare belongs at the bottom of the ocean. Despite being obsessed with seduction and sex, ‘White Women’ is about as erotic as a solo 4am trip to your local fish market. After four albums, the Canadian duo’s flimsy, supermarket own brand of funk is wearing thinner than Kate Moss after a month long juice cleanse. It’s so dripping with awkward, wink-wink irony that it’s utterly impossible to appreciate the Hall & Oates style synth pop that underpins the yacht rocking groove of ‘Old 45s’.

Steel balls
Pressed by United, and seems to sport the same mastering as that found on the EU Optimal-pressed version. Despite United's comparatively lower standards of quality control, I'm pleased to say that my copy is made of silent wax free of blemishes. GREAT, juicy, punchy, full-bodied, detailed sound on this one too - perfect for the uber-sexy synth-funk flourishes of Chromeo.Mind you, one thing that may throw some listeners off is that "Sexy Socialite" (ironically the song that introduced me to these guys) is pushed to the beginning of the track listing on this one, but that's a necessary evil to keep the side lengths as equal as can be possibly achieved. All in all, a fantastic album for electro, funk and synthpop fans old and new - there isn't a weak track to be heard, and Chromeo's eclectic mix of a truly authentic old-school synth-funk flair with a new-school club-ready charisma keeps things HELLA FRESH all the way through. Not to mention the admirably flippant, girl-pleasin' lyrics.
